These are different ways in which hay was moved at Berida at three points in its history.
The first was taken in 1923.
And the second was taken in 1927. The person on top of the load is believed to be Billy Diggs.
The final photo was taken by Nancy McCutcheon during a drought.
In September 1951, the first wool clip was shorn on “Avalon”.

The truck belonged to Tom McMillan. He took the wool to the rail siding and from there it was sent to to brokers, where it was classed and then sold.
This is Bob (Alexander) and Olive McCutcheon (on the left-hand side of the photo) at Berida, ready to shoot, in 1927.
The following photos of Berida Woolshed were both taken in 1927.
The first gives us a view of the front of the woolshed …
… and the second, a glimpse of Berida at shearing time. The wood is piled up, ready to fuel the steam engine that drove the shearing gear and the grinders.
